Noun + どころか
In 「Ｓ１ どころか Ｓ２」, Ｓ１ indicates that someone or something is very far from an expected state. In Ｓ２ appears a situation quite different from the situation expressed in Ｓ１.
Examples雨はやむどころか、いよいよひどくなった。
Ame wa yamudokoroka, iyoiyo hidoku natta.
Instead of stopping, the rain increased.
彼女の成績は上がるどころか、下がる一方です。
Kanojo no seiseki wa agarudokoroka, sagaru ippō desu.
Not only did her results not improve, it keeps going down.
私たちの交渉は失敗どころか、大成功でした。
Watashitachi no kōshō wa shippaidokoroka, taiseikō deshita.
Far from being a failure, our negotiation was a great success.
